^Lot 1050 Czech 98 Mauser 8mm #8367

This is a sporterized Czech made 1898 pattern Mauser large ring bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.92x57 (8mm Mauser). The receiver bears no markings other than “Circle Z” proof marks on the receiver and barrel. Additional marks are partially visible on barrel. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for a Leupold Standard series 2-pc scope base, and includes, the front base. The barrel, receiver, guard, base plate, follower and trigger have all been stripped of their original finish and professionally parkerized, retaining approximately 95% of its professional refinish. The bolt assembly has been bead blasted and left raw. The bolt also features a Dayton Traister Mk II safety to allow for lower scope mounting. The rifle features a hunting style stock with a raised cheek pad, vertical grip and Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. There are various light depressions and scuffs throughout the stock with a deeper dent in the lower edge of the vertical grip and one below the ejection cutout. The rifled action has also been bedded into the stock. The bore is crisp. The stock is in good condition.
